Updates from CGRFA 14

FAO Commission on Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, Session 14 (CGRFA 14), Rome, April 15 - 19

The CGRFA is the United Nation body charged with the governance of agricultural biodiversity that underpins our food supply - the seeds, livestock breeds, plants and trees, fish and aquatic organisms and the wide range of supporting species e.g. pollinators, soil micro-organisms. It negotiated the International Seed Treaty (IT PGRFA). It relates closely with the Convention on Biological Diversity. It should have precedence over UPOV and WIPO with respect to agricultural biodiversity governance.
